Privacy is Key. Keep it to Yourself.

Privacy is Key. Keep it to Yourself.

Would you give everybody a key to your house? Privacy holds sacred energy. Let’s have just one convo at a time about why privacy is key.

Privacy allows freedom.

When you value being private, you master your ability to make decisions that are not tainted by others’ opinions. While it is optimistic to believe everyone around you wants the best for you, that may not be true. Some people are battling with the spirits of the devil and their judgment may be influenced by those battles. Consequentially, when you go to them for advice on private matters, you’ll be getting advice through their current struggles – not particularly your own.

In this case, it is best to consult a therapist or God. Confidential laws bind a therapist to keep your business between you and them. You won’t have to worry about hearing misinformed people telling your business to anyone with ears. Additionally, God inspired Paul to write:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Phillipians 4:6-7

Praying with God is a great way to bring hope into your situation. When it comes to telling my business, God is the first person to whom I run. There is no problem too big for God to solve. Understanding who is Our Father and how He provides peace in the midst of the worst mental storms we experience frees your mind to receive the answers you seek.

A clear mind leads to better understanding and decision-making free from the opinions of others.

Being private is powerful.

Simply put, people can’t mess up what they don’t know. What you keep close to you is in your power to control. To clarify, I do not mean controlling other people – we are never in a position to have power over someone’s mind. I am speaking in terms of the control of our personal thoughts and actions. As a matter of fact, you are the only person with power over yourself.

Being mindful of the power that privacy holds helps you navigate your way in the world. When you know to keep intimate details between you and your loved ones, you don’t run into situations where that information may be used against you. Consequentially, it is in your control to attract abundant and better opportunities in the near future.

Here are a few tips to invite privacy into your life

  • Grow your relationship with God. He’s the best confidant there is! There is no way He runs and tells your business.
  • Connect with a Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Transformational Life Coach.
  • Connect with a person you trust and discuss relational boundaries. Create a safe space with them and God.

Last but certainly not least, journal your life. To emphasize, keeping a journal helps you release uncomfortable feelings that are living rent-free in your mind. If you have difficulty trusting others, then journaling is a great way to express yourself and talk with God. You need that release.

Value your privacy and others

In essence, valuing your privacy involves having boundaries and sticking to them. No one is entitled to know the intimate details of your life and vice versa. Don’t allow social media to make a fool of you, we don’t need to freely know everything about you. In any event, learn how to allow people to want to know about you. Allow them to grow into learning you. You create more meaningful relationships when you value privacy.
