A Prayer away from Lust

A Prayer away from Lust

1 John 2:16 reads “For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.”

Dear God,

I feel my Spirit being convicted. I repent from indulging in my fleshly desires. I fell deep into the Devil’s lust trap and I need help maneuvering my way out. Lord, thank you for lending me your vision and allowing me to see myself the way you do. I know how important it is not to lean on my own understanding and trust in you that everything works together for the good of your plan. I am in the good of your plan. I accept the blessing you pour into my life. Amen, I pray in the name of Jesus.

The spirit of lust will bind you to the evils of this world. It will have you committing acts that will detour you from the path of fullness and eternity God planned for you.

It is easy to fall into the trap of being a sex figure in this world. It is easy to use our bodies in exchange for attention, money, and sex. In no way am I judging because, I considered myself a sex symbol for years. I was a vixen for women sexual empowerment. This chain is one I am breaking free from today.

It feels good to be attractive, to feel sexy, to be intimate…but not in front of and for the whole world to see. I am not the most “modest” woman out there, but I recognize the importance of not allowing my sexuality to be the forefront of my existence.

As a woman, we are much more than our bodies. Society has objectified our bodies and many of us do it to ourselves because it’s become so widespread. It almost seems normal, but it’s not.

Breaking free from our lustful nature requires obedience and discipline to God’s word. Choosing to walk with God as the head of our life, Jesus as our Savior, and the Holy Spirit as our spirit is an everyday commitment.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6

Every day, we must choose God. Matthew 6:33 reads “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Seek God everyday.

I began learning this lesson when I wrote I’m Lost Without You, God. When we try to do things on our own, we fall quickly into death.

We will all die a physical death one day, but some people are walking about alive and spiritually dead because of the choices they’ve made.

Don’t be that person. Choose a life of peace. Choose God.
